The NEW CUBAN GENERATION project showcases talented young Cuban musicians, dancers and artists, and explores the rich influence of traditional and classical arts on contemporary urban culture. These talented artists -- many of Latin American heritage now living in Canada -- are testimony to the artistic possibilities created by Toronto's diversity.
New Cuban Generation’s musical repertoire fuses the genres of Afro-Cuban with Jazz, R&B with Latin, Jazz with Classical. NCG will perform their own compositions and arrangements as well as works by local piano legend Hilario Duran, Orlando Valle (Maracas), Jose Maria Vitier, and Dizzy Gillespie.

This is the third New Cuban Generation concert at Lula Lounge. The evening will include dancer Irina Rosales, storyteller Travis A. Blackman, craft artist Lorianet Diaz Lada and live painting by Andres Correa.

About New Cuban Generation
Founded by singer Mireya Escalante, New Cuban Generation -- a network, resource and incubation center for young artists currently living in Canada and those on tour -- brings together a new generation of mainly Cuban musicians to explore the ways the traditional music of Hispano-American countries shapes and informs contemporary urban music. Lula Lounge supports the New Cuban Generation's efforts by hosting regular local community events that foster appreciation of artistic expression.
