Ralph Irizarry, master of the timbales, brings his renowned 7-piece latin outfit Timbalaye to Toronto for Lula Lounge's second anniversary parties. Irizarry has played and recorded extensively with Ruben Blades and Ray Baretto as well as Paul Simon, David Byrne, Celia Cruz and Isaac Delgado...to mention a few. He is considered one of the biggest names in latin jazz percussion. History will be made on the Saturday night when these top New York players Jam with Toronto's finest latin musicians at our Toronto meets New York Descarga. Billy Bryans presents one of Cuba's hottest young stars: Haila Mompie
Lula Lounge is delighted to announce that the stunning Cuban diva Haila Mompie and her band will also grace Lula's stage as part of the anniversary week at Lula. Mompie appeared with Issac Delgado at Lula's opening two years ago and her career has been on fire in the meantime. Haila's album "Tribute to Celia" in the honour of the great Celia Cruz featured Delgado was a huge international hit. Click here for details.
