On June 29 and 30th, Lula audiences will be treated to Los Angeles based jazz pianist-composer Sunnie Paxson. Joining Paxson are Euro jazz singer, dancer extraordinaire Lyne Tremblay (National Jazz Awards nominee for Best New Jazz Singer 2003), former Sugar Jones singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Julie Crochetière, the sultry, soulful singer-songwriter-pianist Daniela Nardi, and Canadian actor and singer-songwriter Laura Robinson (just returned from 12 years in L.A.). Sunnie is a close collaborator of virtuoso bassist Stanley Clarke, who plays on her latest CD and is scheduled to perform at the Downtown Jazz Festival Friday, July 2. In July Lula will host be host to the Latin Alternative Music Conference with two battle of the bands nights which will be headlined by San Francisco-based Los Mocosos on July 11th and by Nortec Collective on July 15th.

On July 16, chef Derek Crinson will introduce a special summer menu. With this new menu Derek will continue to infuse traditional latin American dishes with his unique contemporary flair. Incorporating an abundance of tropical fruits and herbs, as well as fresh local ingredients, the summer menu looks just right for a sultry, summer evening.
