Keep visiting the website for updates on August 18th and 19th. Some of Toronto’s best known pop and blues artists are coming together for a two night Anti-Bush fundraiser and get together. We’re not allowed to reveal anything yet but if you call us we’ll give you some very leading hints.

At the end of the month, chef Derek Crinson will again update the Lula menu in order to take advantage of the gorgeous local seasonal fruits and vegetables available at this time of year. New appetizer items include a crown of vine-ripened tomatoes, filled with Mexican chutney, topped with slivers of shaved asiago and a summer gazpacho topped with tomatilla salsa. Among the new entrées are New Zealand snapper baked in a banana leaf with tomatilla chutney, topped with maple-roasted chayotes and rice cakes and a grilled loin of lamb with papaya mint mojo and wild mushroom escabeche, served with herbed quinoa. This menu is great for groups of 2 to 20. For larger groups, give us a call and Derek will develop a custom menu for you.

We’ve decided to get an early start on August 25th in hopes that the younger and older sets can join us to enjoy this Afro-Cuban Folkloric Percussionist/Dance and Song Troupe from Baracoa, Cuba. The show begins at 8pm and will include many Cuban dances as well as some tricks involving Fire.
