February 11 is Carnaval at Lula!
Tired of winter? Lula Lounge can provide a brief respite with our Carnaval this Friday night. After a fabulous three-course dinner, you can enjoy a samba class with Ana Machado and dance to the Brazilian rhythms of Maninho Costa and Batucada Carioca with special guest Nick Ali. Book a table for six people or more for dinner and the show before Friday and Lula will throw in a bottle of wine. Call 416 588 0307 for reservations. $50 per person covers dinner, the dance lesson and the show.
Eliana Cuevas Valentine’s Concert

Black History Month - Sunday February 20
Help us celebrate Black History Month on Sunday, February 20 at our authentic Haitian Voodoo Masked Ball. This is a rare opportunity to experience and learn more about traditional Haitian music,dance, food and culture. The night will include a short presentation on Haitian Voodoo culture myths and reality. The colours for the evening are white, purple and black, a prize for the most original costume. Come and enjoy the classical side of contemporary Cuban music with Musica Eterna. This prestigious orchestra boasts some of today's most accomplished classical Cuban musicans. Under the direction of composer and conductor Guido López-Gavilán, Musica Eterna has collaborated with many well-known international composers and musicians including Italian double-bassist and composer, Stefano Scodanibbio, North American violinist Richard Luby and Austrian violist Cristoph Angerer. The ensemble’s rich repertoire encompasses the works of the great Baroque masters as well as many contemporary new music composers. Don't miss this rare opportunity to

Montuno Police - February 24
We're pleased to welcome Rick Shadrach Lazar and his global jazz sextet Montuno Police back to Lula. Montuno Police's last appearance at Lula received rave reviews. In their original instrumental compositions combining the harmonic and improvisational traditions of North American Jazz with the rhythmic and melodic influences of Afro-Cuban, Brazilian and Arabic music, Montuno Police is creating their own international brand of funky jazz fusion.
