Cubadisco Salsa Tour Parties
Lovers of contemporary Cuban salsa should not miss the last two Cubadisco Salsatour 2005 Parties hosted by DJ Billy Bryans at Lula Lounge May 6 and May 28. Both evenings will feature Toronto’s newest Cuban Salsa Band "Cafe Cubano!" Lula’s $45 package includes 3 course dinner, dance class and show. Small World Music presents InFuse
Throughout May Lula will host an exciting four part Small World Music series showcasing the best in Canadian Indo-Jazz Fusion and Dub. The series kicks off May 1st with Tasa, one of Canada’s most renowned Indian Fusion bands, teamed with master sarangi player Drubha Ghosh. On May 12th, Lal and some of T-dot's most stylin' young artists assemble for an evening of hip-hop, spoken word and dub. Juno-nominees Autorickshaw perform their distinctive blend of Indian Classical and cool jazz on the 19th. Ottawa's Galitcha come to town on the 26th, weaving their musical tapestry with sultry ballads and lively dance tunes. They share the bill with Tantra, Montreal's Indo-jazz trio of sarod, tabla and guitar. May 1, 12, 19 and 26 $15, $45 for series pass.

Gary Topp presents Veda Hille May 5
Vancouver singer-songwriter-composer VEDA HILLE visits Lula as part of her Canadian tour. Hille writes and preforms quirky and moving songs about the natural world, the constant threat of tragedy, the trickiness of love, and anything else that amazes her. With her album about the Canadian painter Emily Carr and suite exploring the Yukon Territory, Veda Hllie is a truly Canadian Artist. $15, 8:30 pm.
Habana Sax returns to Lula! June 23 to 26
Following up on the huge success of their appearance at Lula Lounge last year, Habana Sax will return to Lula as part of this year’s Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival. Jazz fans won’t want to miss this fiery, innovative quintet that shows that there is more to Cuban music than the Buena Vista Social Club. Representing the evolution and confluence of Afro-Cuban, Caribbean, Salsa, Latin jazz, and Brazilian rhythms Habana Sax delivers an amazing array of tantalizing styles. The finished product is a breathtaking and highly energized concert experience.
